Can I say,

1 He asked his mother to buy him a tube of glue because his glue was / has finished.

2 His glue was finished to be used, so he needs a new one.

3 His glue has almost finished using, so he needs a new one.

Can I say,

I'd go with the idioms 'run out' or 'out of' instead of using the verb 'finish'.

He ran out of glu
