Can I say,

(a) When John poured the warm water into the yeast, it became a mixture. The mixture in the volcano was erupted / erupted.

(b) When John poured the warm water in the yeast, the mixture in the volcano was erupted/ erupted.

Can I say,

John poured the warm water, yeast and some mixture into the volcano and it erupted.

"Pour" is used indeed for fluids. I would say :
Vincent Teo John mingled/mixed/blended the warm water, yeast and some mixture, put it into the volcano and it [volcano] erupted.
