Was concentrated

Hi

I heard a famous Indian writer say this today:

At the time, I was concentrated on writing...

Would you say that the use is natural?

Thanks,

Tom

This is offbeat usage, but acceptable in a writing context, and especially from a writer. This is similar to edgy usage like: I was gorged on writing. I was propped up on writing.

More natural to me are these:

I was focused on writing.
I concentrated on writing.

I was concentrated on writing seems a hybrid of the two.

Should be: At the time, I was concentrating on writing

Thanks, CJ and Anons.

Sorry for changing the gear mid-conversation, but have you ever used or heard subscribed as an adjective? I have often heard Indian authors use something like this. (Is it natural to native ears?)

Are you subscribed to The Sunday Times?
I am no longer subscribed to The Reader's Digest.

Thanks,

Tom
