Hi

Having been preyed upon personally has made me sympathetic to the protective guidance of traditional authority. It has also, however, made me wary of yielding personal authority to any outside authority.

By the way, by saying "personal authority" she means "her own authority"? I understand she means she didn't want any outside authority to influence her own authority, she wanted to be an authority for herself? Is my understanding correct?
