warmed up to the idea

"Maybe the speedwalking had jiggled my brain but I soon warmed up to the idea of bonding with my new roommate."

What is the equivalent of this idiom - "warmed up to"?
My guess is - "I am used to/accustomed"

Yes. I hadn't like the idea at first, but I began to like it more and more.

It's possible to "warm up to" a person, a place, a job, an idea, etc.

This is quite simple: "warm up to" = "get used to".

We can feel hot, warm, cool or cold about people and things.

I gave him a warm welcome, but I got a cool look.
When he laughed at my appearance, I felt quite cold towards him.
Later, I had to agree that somebody who has just walked a long way
in the pouring rain can arouse laughter.
Over the course of just a few weeks, I warmed towards him.
