Want to = would like to

want to = would like to

I was wondering if there is a past form of would like to or it is used for the present and past tense?

I wanted to go yesterday.
I would like to go yesterday.

Both sentences are the same in meaning?

What do you native English speakers think? Thank you so much as usual in advance!
