want

I have a question about the following definition of want.
Want: To feel that you would like someone or something to be in a particular place or doing a particular job.

Can I write the definition like this?
1: To feel that you would like someone or something to be in a particular place.
2: To feel that you would like someone or something doing a particular job.

I removed just one ‘or’ from definition.

In my opinion, Macmillan is not the best dictionary around.
