WANNA COME JOIN US?

Dear Teachers,

1. I just know I love her and she loves me. That's all that matters.

- What does "that's all that matters" mean?

2. I guess you are some lucky guy.

- This means " I guess you are one of the lucky guys", right?

3. Hi! Mike. We're having a party tonight. Wanna come join us?

- I think "wanna come join us" is American English, and "wanna come and join us" is more grammatical, right?

Thanks a bunch to Teachers,

Stevenukd.

Stevenkud, I know you are usually quoting others, but you are still young - we can still have an effect on you. I implore you to not use "wanna" and similar words yourself, in any context uther than IMs and e-mails to your closest companions. Please. And thank you.

Dear Grammar Geek!

I didn't know the word "wanna" is impolite to say. Because I often see and hear it on Cable TV, and in English lessons. Now I know it's not good to use. Thanks for your advice.[:-D] [

First, let me apologize for mistyping your name. I'm really sorry about that.

"Wanna" isn't impolite to SAY. As CJ can explain, it's just what ends up coming out of our mouths when we say "want to" because it blends together. You will HEAR it all the time.

But when you WRITE it, you are being far too casual for all but the most informal circumstances (like IM). Just write "want
