I'd call him a "street hawker," but both the name and the practice are old fashioned in my experience. In what country does this happen? com/hawker

In that case, I would say "street vendor." "Peddler" is a pretty old-fashioned term, and usually refers to someone who walks from town to town selling things.

I agree with Khoff, although blueblooded specifically describes "a seller who goes through the town [and] calls everyone to come and buy."
In the US there are not too many currently who "walk from town to town selling things," but there may well be in Trinidad.

Peddler and huckster have negative connotations to me.
A huckster is a street vendor or salesperson who loudly sells cheap things for higher prices.
