Wallets

I'm looking at wallets and I tell the store manager:

It looks as if they are all the same. Or

It looks as if the were all the same.

I'm trying to say they all look similar.

Which one should I use?

'It looks like they're all the same.'

'They all look similar.'

('same' and 'similar' have different meanings.)

Can I say: It looks as if they are all the same. OR

It looks as if they were all the same.
