'Trail' would seem to imply an undeveloped path of some sort, so I believe 3 and 4 are your best choices.

1 and 2 mean the same thing. It is a long formal pavement for walking along the seafront in towns.

3 and 4 are countryside walking paths. A nature trail will take you past lots of interesting animals/plants/birds etc. A walking trail will be more to do with the landscape, but in practise they are pretty much the same thing. It will not be paved but a rough track or just over natural count

I don't think 1 and 2 are identical (see esp the part in blue in esplanade):

Ok, an esplanade may also take vehicles as well as walkers, that's about the only difference.
