Walking down the lane up and down, to and fro

He was walking down the lane/road up and down to pass the time.
He was loitering the lane to and fro.
He was wandering/rambling the lane to and fro to pass his time.
He is wandering and walking past her house to and fro. Maybe he is trying to flirt her glancing her out of the window.

Could you please correct my sentences and suggest me better versions too?
