WALK THE LINE

Hello friends,
I know that this expression refers to a Johnny Cash's song, but I have find it too in other places, normaly refered to a music world ... but I would like to know what does mean exactly when I find it in colloquial terms.

Thanks in advance, Jo.

Hi, 'Beccuase you're mine, I walk the line'. I try to live morally and correctly, and not to do bad things, because I don't want you to get angry and leave me . If you think of life as a line, or as a path, I try to stay on the path.

  • Ther's another idiom, I try to stay on the straight and narrow , which seems to me to be rather similar.
