Walk the fine line...

Hi

Is the underlined expression totally natural? Any suggestion is welcome.

(a question to a teacher in an interview)

How do you walk the fine line between students' ability to grasp different concepts and covering the cumbersome curriculum?

Thanks,

Tom

It is not parallel. How do you walk the fine line between teaching to the extent of students' ability to grasp concepts and covering the cumbersome curriculum? However, it does not seem to me to be a fine line.
