Walk somebody through something?

I don't understand the context below at all,

"I will be happy to walk you through the sequence of courses that will result in a major in Chemistry, and you have several major opions from which to choose"

What in the world does walking somebody through some sequence of courses mean?

That means s/he's going to guide somebody looking through the required prerequites for the major of Chemistry?
