Walk in pudding

What does `walk in pudding` mean as in ``it can feel like you're walking in pudding, such is the effect of walking at altitude``?

Can somebody help? Thanks very much.

Look up "pudding" in your dictionary. Imagine walking through 75cm of it at a low altitude. Apparently, the author of the quotation you provide says that this is the effect of walking at (probably a high) altitude.
