waiting till vs waiting for

Is

Iam waiting till the end happens

or

Iam waiting for the end to happen

I would say I'm waiting until the end. I don't see that "happens" or "to happen" is necessary. Typically we would say the end of something , like the end of the movie, the end of the concert, and so on.

I'm waiting until the end.

I don't see that "happens" or "to happen" is necessary.
