I am waiting for the circumstances to move in my favor.

I think I would say "I am waiting for the circumstances to favor you".

I have one more question.

Isn't the speaker talking about specific circumstances? For example?

I'm waiting for the situation to improve.

In the original with "the", yes, I suppose so.

The sentence as a whole, though, seems more appropriately said about general circumstances. It doesn't seem that if you're waiting for them you know specifically what they are.

Either way is grammatically correct.
