Waited long or immediately

Constantine did not recount this vision to Eusebius until long after that battle had been won and he was in power.
Does it mean that Constantine waited for a long time and then he told Eusebius about the vision ORIt means that Constantine told Eusebius about the vision immediately after the battle (like as soon as the battle was won)

Which one is the right interpretation?

Thanks
