You see, everyone was going on and on about her friend (the princess in the movie) went from curly hair to straight hair. The character was really saying, "Voltaire or hair... let's stop talking about her hair and start focusing on class."

I believe It refers to the politician, Voltaire, He looks in to the idea of tolerance and freedom to do as you wish, a famous quote of his is 'I detest what you say, but defend to the death of me your right to say it', not 100% sure but I think its right
