vocabulary, verbs and syntax

Hi,
There are a few sentences here that you rarely come by unless you are a biker. Could someone tell me how to write them correctly?

Sentence1 He scratched off the paint of his bike to see the color of the paint the garage guy had painted over.

Sentence2 It is hard to balance on a bike at a stop without putting your foot down.

Sentence3 The bike skid and made tire trace on the ground.

Sentence4 We bike raced down the street and when I looked back she was way far behind.

Thank you in advance
