I'm looking for an appropriate word for the following:
Somebody is preparing for the exam but he doesn't have much time (maybe he has, but it is much more common when he hasn't). This exam is about something hard (for example electrotechnics) so you don't try to interpret the learning materials. You only learn sentences fully. You will write the same to the test-paper word by word.
What is the appropriate verb for this learning type? Hungarian teaching materials write the word 'swot' but English monolingual dictionaries don't include this additional meaning (learn something word by word). Those only include the fact of the strong determination (e.g. DEF: "to study very hard, especially in order to prepare for an exam").
Thanks for your help in advance
