Vocabulary games for ESL students

Hi,

Can someone help me find an ESL game for reviews of lessons? We generally play a "chair game" where a student sits on a chair and other classmates describe a word studied and where the person on the chair has 30 seconds to guess what the word is. It's a review of past lessons and of main vocabulary terms. Do you know of another game which is the same or similar that I can play with them? They need to learn another game that will enable them to review their past lessons.

Any suggestions to make my classes more fun?

Thanks,

MVB

You've probably found this game by now, but my kids love the "Flyswatter Game" a lot... love it: T divides the class into two teams. Vocab words are listed twice on the white board on large index cards taped to opposite sides of the board.

  • One S from both groups come to the front and stands with their backs to his or her team's side of the board/vocab terms.
  • Both Ss hold a flyswatter.
