Vocabulary for comics

0 I have discovered this site recently and I find it really interesting and pleasant. 02br
00I needed some help concerning some vocabulary to describe comics: 02br
00bubbles (even if I founf baloons in one of my dictionnaries...)? 02br
00but what about the boxes ??? Do you call them boxes? 02br

Speech and thought bubbles, respectively, are bubbles in which speech or thought is written in comics. I'm not sure but they might also be called speech and thought balloons but I can't remember. As for the boxes in comics, I have no idea what they are called, but I'm sure you could continue to call them "boxes" in lieu of a more appropriate label for them.

I believe they are called cells.

I believe they are called "frames."

In the first frame, Lucy is saying to Charlie Brown... and Snoopy has a little thought bubble with a picture of his supper dish.

I think the bubbles are used for thought and the balloons for speech.

EDIT: Philip and I posted at the same time. I think cels are for animation, and each frame of the hand-drawn movie animation is a cel. I
