Vocabulary doubt

Does the conversation convey the meaning that is intended to convey?

Person1: Mr. A underwent a minor operation 4 months ago and I don't really know what is going on with him?

Person2: Well, don't worry about him! We usually make follow-up calls 2 months after the operation day to find out the health condition. I think he is pretty well!

(I hope the "follow-up" in this context does not mean that the call is being made to schedule another appointment)

Thanks!

Hi Miser Micawver,

Is it correct to say "We usually call him 2 months after the operation to find out how he is doing/feeling"?

Thanks again!

No problem, Anon. I rather like it that way: it brings out another aspect of my personality.
