Hello everyone,

Could you please tell the meaning of "shade" in the the following sentence?

This one is nearly the same shade as my winter coat, so it's too dark. Sorry.

Nobody is answering because you could simply look the word up. In order to give you a complete and accurate answer, I would have to do so myself, and additionally copy and paste a link to the definition. I am happy to do this for learners if the word has a long entry, like "set" or "of", and in the given context it would be hard for them to discern the applicable sense of the word, but in this case, it looks like laziness.
