Hello everyone,

If someone deceives you and convinces you to do something which is somewhat socially not good, and then they use the evidence against you so that they humiliate you and upgrade themselves. Can I use the word "trap" for this situation?

Eg a. They trapped me.

Eg b. They put a trap for me.

You could also say that they deceived, tricked or talked you into doing it.
