Hello everyone,

If a student is chosen among other students to be in charge of them, what is that student called in English?could you please help me?

For myself, I think one of these words is "monitor". Could you please give me some words concerning my request?

Regards,

JA

Try "group leader."

For what purpose?

A monitor is usually a teacher or adult who supervises students during tests, to ensure they are not cheating.

There isn't a single term that is in common use for that, because they don't exist in all parts of the English-speaking world.

Since we don't have an expression for that (as far as I know), you are in a position to invent your own term for it.

Let me suggest "attendance clerk" or "recorder of attendance" or "attendance taker".

That aside, the other students will call the 'attendance clerk' by the derogatory term "teacher's pet" (or worse).
