I am working on a lesson for lower-intermediate students and I have a hard time knowing how to explain the word ''warmly'' in the context of ''She greeted him warmly''. Besides using the dictionary definition, is there another way to explain it better? Thank you for your help.

I don't see why the word should be peculiarly hard to explain. The dictionary entry seems clear enough:

characterized by or showing lively feelings, passions, emotions, sympathies, etc.: a warm heart; warm interest.
