Read English books, watch English TV. Write down words you are unfamiliar with and practice using them.

Hi Ahaan and welcome to EnglishForward.

I respectfully disagree with Jim and Vorpar about their suggestion.

As you said, assuming you have a good range of vocabulary if you are unable to put the words you know into use, it indicates that your active vocabulary is limited.

Memorization has never been a good way to improve any skills in English even grammatical structures.

you live in India so native speakers are no longer available to practice your English with. so what to do is speak with yourself and express what you want to say in English with yourself speaking skills get improved by speaking not reading nor writing i think !

i have understood your problem. if you want to use all your vocabulary , you should make a notebook and should give 30 minutes everyday for practicing .you should write sentences with your vocabulary .
the best way to augment vocabulary is to make picture of every word in your mind , in this way you can learn and can use all words in few months .
