Vocabulary

I'm trying to remember a word I've used in the past but my grey hairs have overtaken my darker hairs. I'm fairly certain the word begins with the letter "p", is three to four syllables in length, and is a less than flattering term one would ascribe to a novice hunter. Thank you in advance from someone on the other side of the hill.

Hi again

I'm sorry - I think I misunderstood you. I thought you meant a person who is not very good at hunting

But you may mean a young horse that has been raised to jump over fences but is not very good at that

Apologies - I will get back to you with a suggestion if I can

Hi

If you google "equine conformation" it gives you an incredibly wide vocabulary for praising horses or being less than complementary about them

I fear that none of these will fit the bill, but I enjoyed looking them up..

- parrot mouth

- pear shaped

- pleasure rider

- pigeon breasted

- pigeon toed

- pasterns long

You might mean "pea shooter".

This refers to the gun, rather than the hunter, but means "a low-powered gun" and might be used to describe a novice armed with one.

Clodpole.
