Hi
Can anyone tell me the word we use to refer to the action of water coming up from the ground while digging a well?

Dear Teachers, How about the verbs "to gush out" and "to spout"? But, please, don't accept them, Suresh, yet. Let's wait for a Teacher to come and say if these are all right.

I have never dug a well for water. What happens? Does the water gush out suddenly? Or does it just slowly bubble up?
