Vocabulary

A few years ago I came across a word meaning people who use "technical" words or jargon incorrectly and usually as a result of attempting to appear more in touch with modern technology or some esoteric profession than they really are. Managers have a habit of doing this as well as underworld elements trying to appear better educated (for example Ben Kingsly in “Sexy beast” with “Insinuendos” as a creative combination of innuendo and insinuation.

An example that comes to mind is using the word "download" when simply meaning to print.

I think the word started with "s" but I don't remember.

Help please
