Vocab question: what does /warranty/ collocate with?

Dear Users,

I'd like to ask what the word /warranty/ collocates with? I know goes well with under as in to be under warranty, but I'm looking for other words, especially the one that we'd use to express the process of using the warranty. In my language we'd say something like to realize a warranty , but I know it's not correct in English.

Could you help me out please?

Thanks

When I read your post, nothing sprang to mind, so I went to the COCA corpus, but among all the 300+ examples under 'a/the warranty', none at all include a structure for that action. It seems to be a rarely recorded act. The nearest I could find was 'make a warranty claim', and I suppose you could slso recast that as '(make a) claim against/under a warranty'.

(The prepositions are my choice.)

Thank you MM. Would it be possible to use claim a warranty instead of to make a warranty claim?

I think you need to structure it with a preposition as I suggested.
