Vocab question: to out-level someone?

Hi there,

To out-level sb or to outlevel sb Does this verb even exist? If so, what would be its past form? I'm trying to express the fact that someone's level is much higher than mine. For example:

Yesterday we were given a placement test that would help our teacher to evaluate our level of Chinese. Unfortunately, my co-workers definitely outlevel(l)ed me as I found the passage to be too difficult for me.

Thanks
