Vocab question no. 59: torob a place/to burglirize

Dear All,

May we use to rob when talking about places? I suppose one can say to rob a person or a person was/got robbed but is it actually possible to say My apartment got robbed?

My guess is that it's better to say My apartment was/got burglarized.

Perhaps I'm wrong. Any help will be appreciated.
