Vocab question no. 57: what do we call a strategy like that?

Hello there,

I'd like to ask if there's a word in English that names a policy like the one I'm describing in the following sentences. In some companies employees' performance is evaluated at the end of each month and based on the results some workers get the sack. The employee who doesn't reach the required minimum level of - for example - the number of sold products or getting a required number of new customers is usually fired.

Thanks a million.
