Vocab question no. 13 - dreams + collocations

Dear All,

As far as I know, the following words and expressions collocate well with dreams
  • fulfiil (one's dreams)
  • make (one's dreams) come true
  • strive for (one's dreams)
  • turn (one's dreams) into reality
  • pursue (one's dreams)
  • make (one's dreams) real
My question is... Can we use the word realise/realize with dreams? I was once told that this verb is like a false friend and even though it sounds OK in some languages, in English it sounds awkward.

What do you think?
