The word asservation was given to me by my teacher in our vocabulary. The word seems to be non-existent now; I know that it means an acknowledgement of sorts, but could someone please explain to me how one would use it?

Hi Leodom, welcome to EnglishForward. To be honest I have never and can't see myself ever using this word (or hearing it) as a native speaker. As it is a noun in the unlikely event that I would use it, it would be like this: To obtain my visa I had to go to the embassy and have an asservation of my documents.
