Visualise, but audio?

Hi,

I'm wondering if there's a word, similar to "visualise", but for audio.

For instance, if I describe a scene, you can "visualise" it mentally. So if I describe a sound, accent, or voice, you can "audioise" it?

I hope I've explained well enough...

Thanks.

I've heard expressions like,
"See it in the mind's eye and hear it in the mind's ear."

You've explained it well enough, but there is no word like that -- certainly not audioise.

imagine the sound of is what you'll have to be satisfied with. If you describe an accent, I can imagine the sound of it. (I cannot audioize it.)

You're absolutely right, 'Audioised' should definitely exist!!
Alternatively though, you might also use sonically-visualised???

Only if you're a bat, or possibly a radar technician.
