Visiting

I've been in New York for a few weeks and I'm talking to my grandma about it:

"My friend's here from LA so that's another reason why I've come back to visit."

Is this present perfect tense used properly? Please tell me why or why not I should use the present perfect or past tense here.

Thanks a bunch.
