Viscosity

Does 'viscosity' mean 'stickiness'?

Top answer

Not really, no, although you are on the right track! Viscosity is more of a scientific/technical term to do with density of a liquid. It is not a common word at all, but I have seen it used in advertising of motor oil for cars; I think less viscous means the engine performs more smoothly?
