Violence against children

A child experiencing physical abuse is called "child abuse/domestic abuse", so what is a child who feels hurt called?
Most countries now enact child protection laws and it seems to be less and less common to see children being abused. But that doesn't mean all children are happy. Currently, many news reports that there are many cases of children rebellious, negative behavior, depression, negative psychological effects, ...
Each of us was once a child, so we understand the feeling of needing to be loved and treated with kindness. I understand that adults have their own reasons for raising their voices or unintentionally hurting children but why do so many parents do it out of a "habit"? I'm not judging them, I'm not saying they don't love children. But traumatized children have their hurts and feelings "stuck" in their childhood years and follow them for the rest of their lives. Even we adults are prone to stress, fatigue before life and sometimes we don't even know how to deal with difficulties. So how will children behave and feel if they feel unloved? And if that happened to already grown children, is there a way to "compensate" for the shortcomings of childhood?
