Ving or to V

hello everybody, this is the first time i join this forum. I hope Forum will be very useful for me to improve my english skill . Thank all
Now i am very confused about using "to V" or " Ving" in the first of sentence:
Example:
To lie or (lying) in the sun is pleasant.
could you explain this thing for me. Thank a lot

Both are correct. In the first instance you used the infinitive to lie and in the second you opted for the gerund lying .
