Viewpoint vs. point of view

Hello everybody,

can I say: "Classification of idioms from semantic viewpoint"?
or "Classification of idioms from semantic point of view" would be better?

With an ARTICLE ( 'A' or 'THE' ) both are correct - BUT "Classification of idioms from A semantic viewpoint"? is American 'English' "Classification of idioms from A semantic point of view" is English and sounds much better to an English ear. M JC Brown
