View of the world maintains ...

Hi

John Bell conceived of a simple means of testing the truth of non-locality by taking measurements on a pair of quantum particles that had once been in contact but were now separated. Our common sense view of the world maintains that one measurement will be larger than the other and thereby demonstrate their "inequality".

Does it mean something like: Our common sense tells us that one measurement should be larger than the other measurement and prove that they are not equal?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
By the way: does "measurement" always relate to the size of something? So if someone "takes measurements" he checks how big something is?
