videoconference meetings

Later in the morning, I had videoconference meetings with customers from germany and Korea to discuss our new line of products.

First, is meetings optional? That is, could I say videoconferences instead?

Second, is new line of products equivalent to new kind of products? Thanks.

Top answer

Yes, you could just say videoconferences. In fact, I think that is better, as conference already includes the meaning of meeting here. No, I wouldn't say that a new line of products is the same as a new kind of products.

  • Kind is singular yet products is plural.
  • New kinds of products or a new kind of product would be correct grammatically, however, in this context kind may not be appropriate.

Thanks, Nona, for your help.

I'm still not sure of the meaning of a new line of products. Would you shed more light?

New line of products - something the company hasn't sold before. They could be something newly invented/created, or it could just be something very standard that the shop hasn't previously stocked.

Thanks, Nona, for the further explanation.

Based on your reply, I presume it's synonymous with new type/kind of products.

Hi,
I still don't know what exactly "our new line of products" refer to. Is it the same to just say "our new products?" Thanks.
