very suddenly or very rapidly

Dear Members, I would like to know whether the temperatures on the moon can change very suddenly or very rapidly. Thank you so much.

Presumably it's the words sudden versus speedily that you are concerned with (rather than the answer). Sudden changes would mean that there is no gradual change - there is no warning of change, it is unexpected. Rapid changes would refer to the space of time over which the change occurs - speedily, a short space of time.
