There are not very many professional people living in my condo. ("Very many" is typically used in negative statements. It doesn't sound right in positive statements.)
There are too many people with young children living in my condo - it's noisy.
First of all this is what my dictionary says; Many- is used mainly in questions and negative sentences: Do you go to many concerts? I wouldn't argue with 'mainly'.
In statements a lot of or lots of (informal) are much more common.
I forgot to include 'plenty of',a large number of,a great number of, a great deal of,loads of, and a large quantity of.
Could you check these exampes too?
We have plenty of/a large number of/ a great number of/a great deal of/loads of/a large quantity of books. Do you have plenty of/a large number of/ a great number
"A great deal of" is only used when the object is uncountable. "We have a great deal of rice", or "we have a great deal of time", or "we have a great deal of patience", but never "we have a great deal of books" or "we have a great deal of forks".
