"Versus"

Say I compare Y to X, where X serves as a basis for my comparison.
For eaxmple, I want to compare the sales of 2010, to those of 2009, where my main interest, or focus, is 2010's sales.

Among the following 2, which description is the correct one?
1. 2010 vs. 2009
2. 2009 vs. 2010
